X-Design jumped onboard to help Loopio create a fresh, dynamic space within their new office on Spadina Avenue in Toronto’s coveted Kensington Market neighbourhood—perfect for their quickly expanding team of 40 and flexible enough to support their anticipated expansion to 200 staff. The space made a magnificent blank canvas, spanning 28,000 square feet across three floors in a sleek, newly renovated loft-style building.
Loopio is a tech firm, designing software aimed to streamline the RFP response process. Their passion is to empower people, from customers to their own employees. Their top priority on this project was to provide a space that would support and celebrate their highly collaborative group of “Loopers” (company jargon for team members). Loopers are the heart of the company and the driving force behind the evolution of the brand.
The integral mission and values of Loopio were captured by designing a mix of private and collaborative spaces. The new space features a multi-purpose lunchroom for townhall meetings and social gatherings, a mix of small meeting rooms and flexible, modular team huddle spaces, as well as a large boardroom. Loopers can also recharge in a meditation room; enjoy games such as foosball, ping-pong, billiards and basketball; relax on a rooftop patio; or even hop on a scooter to travel within the office. Centralized coffee bars were strategically interspersed among the dynamic desking zones, along with a healthy proportion of soundproof phone booths.
Flexibility was a key feature within this office, to support Loopio’s growth in their home base and to bolster their goals for a future global expansion.
