I find designing for specific user groups with a detailed list of needs fascinating.  Whether its for a company that has an alternative work flow or some other highly specialized requirement it forces us as designers to get inside the heads of our clients and see how they live or work.  DeafSpace takes this to a whole new level.  This article helps shed light to a few of the many details that need to be considered when designing for a Deaf user group; which at Gallaudet University is all of their spaces (it’s a university for the Deaf).  Everything from how much sunlight comes into the building down to the light controls; the details are seemingly minute yet profoundly influence the users.
