Project management is more than being able to just create a fancy timeline and budget form, true project management is leading a Client through a complex and pitfall-laden process and acting as a guide and advocate for the Client team. We find that companies tend to have the following frustrations after they have completed a project. What happened to my budget and/or schedule? & How could my expectations been better defined? Our strategy to avoid these types of frustrations has three factors: 1. Define the complete strategy of the project implemetation early and with a deep restraint for the triple constraints of SCOPE, TIME, and COST. 2. Create a management plan and tools to ensure adherance to the constraints at all phases of the project. 3. Engage the project team as the Client advocate, always standing up for the Client's needs and requirements. The opportunities of engaging our firm as Project Manager include the ability to define requirements and project constraints earlier, leading to better real estate decisions; Managing Client expectations from the beginning and implementing the process for success, not failure; Ensure the project is as painless as possible. |
